*Social Connections – our monthly Social Connections group is going strong and our tweens and teens and adults love it! Contact our Social Connections Facilitator, Faith at socialconnections@autismmv.org with any questions or for registration signup. Our next event is: Saturday, September 17 for an Open Mic event at the Alta Building, Campus of Care, Mineral Ridge.
Sensory- Friendly Story Time – Thank you to The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County for re-starting this great program. We are happy to provide our support. The next event is September 17 at 11am at the Downtown Youngstown Branch. Ages 3-8 with autism or sensory processing disorder, siblings also welcome. We are back to our virtual monthly support group to help parents and caregivers with resources or just someone to bounce ideas off of. We will once again also set up private phone calls for anyone who needs resources but are unable to attend during this group time. Email Robin at robin@autismmv.org to set up a 20 minute call or Zoom to discuss your needs.
October Events

MCBDD Transition Fair – Saturday, October 15 at the Southern Park Mall, Boardman. We will have a resource table at this event, so stop by and visit us and other organizations and businesses working on young adult services and programs. The event hours will run from 11:30am-3:30pm in the JC Penney’s Concourse.
5th Annual Inclusive Trunk or Treat – October 22 at the Canfield Fairgrounds Event Center. Special needs only times, as well as fun for all families. Businesses and organizations needed to decorate trunks and pass out candy and non-candy items. Must pre-register for the event. Event registration not available yet.

Event by: AATAP – Autism Awareness Training and Acceptance Program. In Partnership with: Autism Society of Mahoning Valley
EVERYONE is welcome to enjoy AATAP’s and the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley’s Fall Festival. Come meet and interact with local First Responders & their emergency vehicles! There is no age restriction for those with special needs that would like to attend. Free event. All individuals who pre-register by filling out this form with special needs will receive a little goodie bag – stop at the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley table on event day to receive yours.
