DESCRIPTION:  \nApplications for the 2026 Teacher Mini Grants Program has ended on August 1\, 2026.  We hope to continue this grant program in the Summer of 2027.\nThank you ASECU for your support of our program and Mahoning Valley teachers! \n  \nThe Autism Society of Mahoning Valley is now accepting applications for its annual Teacher Mini-Grants Program\, which provides funding to educators serving autistic students and other learners with special needs throughout Mahoning\, Trumbull\, and Columbiana counties. In previous years\, Autism Society Teacher Mini-Grants have funded a variety of classroom projects designed to support autistic students and other learners with special needs. Funded initiatives have included sensory learning tools\, communication supports for nonverbal students\, flexible seating options\, inclusive classroom libraries\, social-emotional learning resources\, life-skills development activities\, and other innovative programs that enhance student engagement\, independence\, and success. \nThe program helps teachers bring innovative ideas to life by supporting classroom resources\, sensory tools\, communication supports\, life-skills programming\, and other initiatives that promote student success and inclusion. \nMade possible by the generous support of Associated School Employees Credit Union  the Teacher Mini-Grants Program invests directly in local classrooms and educators who help students with autism and other special needs thrive. \nThis year\, ASMV will award three grants of $750\, $500\, and $250 to educators working in public and private schools throughout Mahoning\, Trumbull\, and Columbiana counties. Applications are being accepted through August 1\, 2026\, and program guidelines and application materials are available at AutismMV.org. \nApplications will be reviewed by the ASMV Education Committee\, and grant recipients will be recognized and presented with their awards on Wednesday\, August 12\, 2026\, at 7:30 PM\, during a Teacher Appreciation Night hosted by Gorant Dessert Bar in Boardman. The event will celebrate the dedication\, creativity\, and impact of educators who support students with Autism throughout the Mahoning Valley. \n\nApplication must be submitted by the teacher\, not a student’s parent.  Parents\, please share with your child’s teacher. Applications will be accepted from teachers who support autistic students preschool age through high school\, including option 22.  School must be located in Mahoning\, Trumbull or Columbiana counties. \nTeacher Mini Grants 2026 are Proudly Sponsored by: ASECU Associated School Employee Credit Union\nAssociated School Employees Credit Union is a unique\, not-for-profit and member-owned credit union. Membership is available to anyone who lives\, works\, worships or attends school in Mahoning\, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.  Membership is also available to family members of members. SUMMARY:Young Adult Career Explorations Week – 2026 Camp FRIEND Application Form
DESCRIPTION:This event is now full. Registration is closed. Please join us for future events. \n  \nWe are currently accepting Autistic youth and young adults into our Career Exploration Young Adult Camp FRIEND Week. This camp will take place the week of August 3rd-7th from 9:30 am to 2:30pm. \nCamp Week will be held at the following locations: \n\nThe Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County\, downtown Youngstown Main Branch\nGoodwill Industries\, Belmont Ave.\, Youngstown\nFlying High\, Experiential Farm\nWest Side Bowl\, Mahoning Ave.\n\nYou must be able to provide transportation to and from each specific location on the day it is scheduled.  TAKE NOTE: Locations of Camp will change throughout the week. \nCampers will receive a full schedule of events prior to the start of camp.  Individuals should be 14-22 years old and reside in Mahoning\, Trumbull\, or Columbiana Counties. Cost is a 175.00 registration fee. \nDue to the nature of our activities and facility partnerships for this week\, a certain level of independence is required. \n It is important that participants: \n– Be at a high school academic level to follow activities and staff direction. \n– Be able to communicate meaningfully whether verbally or via AAC device. \n– Require minimal behavioral and task assistance. \nAutism Society staff consists of dedicated Autism experts and special education teachers. \nActivities will be led by Camp Facilitators and community partners from the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County\, Goodwill\, Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates\, Flying High\, and West Side Bowl.  \nAll applications will be reviewed by our Adult Camp Week Facilitator and she will contact families with any questions to make sure that this program is a good fit for the individual.  If there are no questions and the individual is accepted they will be emailed an acceptance letter.   \nPayments will be accepted through Square by credit card.  If the individual is using county or other funds please coordinate with the funder for prompt payment.   \nPlease email socialconnections@autismmv.org with any direct questions. \n  \n
