Camp FRIEND 2026 – Camper Interest Form
The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley is now accepting submissions for the 2026 Camp FRIEND Season. Families interested in enrolling their child must complete the interest form to begin the application process.
After submission, our Camp Director will review each application. Acceptance notifications will be sent via email, and you may be contacted with follow-up questions regarding your child’s needs. Please respond promptly to any calls or texts to avoid delays. Once accepted, families will be required to complete a full camper registration form. Please allow up to one month for acceptance confirmation, as we carefully plan staffing to best support all campers.
Who Can Attend
Camp FRIEND is designed for individuals:
- With an autism spectrum diagnosis
- Living in Mahoning, Trumbull, or Columbiana counties
This is a social and recreational camp (not academic or therapeutic). Campers may attend with their RBT if 1:1 support is needed.
2026 Camp Sessions
Traditional Camp FRIEND – Ages 5–19
June 22–26, 2026
Jewish Community Center, Youngstown
Drop-off: 8:30–9:00 AM
Pick-up: 2:30–3:00 PM
Note: Families may apply for one week only. If applying for the August Teen/Adult Low Support session, please consider leaving June availability for others.
Costs
- $175 per week (funding options such as Ohio Rise and MCFCFC may apply)
- Neurotypical peers: $75/week (activities + supervision fee)
Neurotypical Peer Participation
A limited number of neurotypical peers are welcome each week. These are often siblings or peers who can support an inclusive environment. When applying, indicate “neurotypical peer” under diagnosis and enter “N/A” for non-applicable questions.
